In the weekly Bungie blog, the developer officially detailed the upcoming transmogrification system for Destiny 2. Officially called Armor Synthesis, the new feature will arrive with the game’s next season. Transmog, or the ability to switch aemor looks interchangeably regardless of stats, is something Destiny players have been asking for since the release of the original game. Unfortunately, Bungie’s proposed system has been particularly poorly received, even by Destiny standards....

Taiwanese horror game Devotion has turned into quite a sad tale of a developer simply trying to sell its game. The title has had a politically charged past, making that ever harder. It came under fire early last year when Chinese sensors made life incredibly difficult for Red Candle Games after a meme suggesting a resemblance between Chinese president Xi Jinping and Winnie the Pooh was found in the game....

ZA/UM announced its detective RPG Disco Elysium was coming soon to Nintendo Switch during BBC’s Game On podcast. A release date was not provided by the studio, only the news that it’s in development and coming “soon.” The game recently won three BAFTA Game Awards for Debut Game, Music and Narrative. It also won the DICE Award for Outstanding Achievement in Story, and the GDC 2020 award for Best Narrative and Best Debut....

Fall Guys players will soon be able to dress up as their favorite slayer when Doom Eternal costumes arrive in-game. Announced back in December, the items will be made available on January 12. The PC version of FIFA 21 doesn’t have many of the features found in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S editions for spec reasons. Speaking to Eurogamer, EA executive producer Aaron McHardy said that the PC edition is missing these bonuses so that the minimum specs aren’t too high. The next-generation version of the football blockbuster comes with a wealth of additional features, which are also coming to PS4 and Xbox One editions, but not PC....

According to a report from Kotaku, the canceled Star Wars title, being developed under codename Viking, was to be a Star Wars: Battlefront spin-off and ready in time to launch alongside next-gen consoles. When Project Ragtag was canceled and its studio Visceral Games shuttered, assets from the canceled game were to be used to develop a new title by EA Vancouver. Eyes in the Dark is a side-scrolling roguelike that uses twin-stick controls (keyboard is also supported, but I wouldn’t recommend it), features a manor of nine zones that are procedurally generated per each attempt, and utilises a powerful, customisable flashlight as its main tool. It’s a title that is designed to be replayed for years to come, and it’s one that I almost certainly will continue to pick up long after this review is published....

In an interview with WCCFTech, Ubisoft 3D Team lead programmer, Stephanie Brenham, confirmed that the game wouldn’t feature ray-tracing on consoles, as the developer opted instead to prioritise 4K at 60fps on new consoles. “Ray tracing is a PC only feature,” Brenham told the site. “On console, our objective has been to take advantage of new hardware capabilities, optimizing performance targeting 4K and achieving 60 FPS, for instance, all while ensuring new game features, like our dynamic weather system, are supported on all platforms....
